So Cole had his 6 month appointment on Friday which meant the dreaded shots:( Cole is now weighing in at 22pd 12oz (98%) and 27 in long (88%). Big boy for sure. He is now too big for his infant car seat. How sad!! I had to go get a big boy car seat, which of course will remain facing backwards until he is a year old. The pedi said he looked perfect (which is what I always want to hear at his appointments!!!) She was impressed with how well he sits up. He is now eating solids 3 times a day and cereal twice a day with bottles in between. He love his food:) He did very well with his shots. He hates the oral vaccine and of course cried with the shots, but calmed down quickly when I picked him up.
After his shots, when I picked him up, he looked over at the nurse and gave her "the look." His lip came out, his eyes started watering, and he stared at her like "why did you do that to me?" It was so funny! We were all laughing so hard .
So the morning before his appointment, I thought I would see if he got any teeth. I figured it would just be gums, but as soon as I put my finger in his mouth I felt it!! He had a tooth on the bottom left side. I was shocked! I kept feeling it to make sure it was still there. Of course he wouldn't let anyone look at it, not even the pedi. She said she did feel it with the little stick, so I'm not crazy.
And now my big boy is no longer needing to be swaddled. I didn't think he would ever not need it. At nap a few weeks ago he kept kicking off his swaddle, so I got desperate and took it off then put him on his tummy. His head instantly went down and he fell asleep! I couldn't believe it. He used to get so frustrated if he woke up on his tummy because he couldn't roll back over. So, I started putting him on his tummy unswaddled and he sleeps like that day and night:) Of course I find myself checking on him more, but he is able to roll all around and has great head control. I did put the bumper back in and I am glad I did (of course again it makes me worry, but what doesn't?). I had the breathable bumper in for a while, but it had no padding and he is all over the bed and waking himself up. Now I usually go in to find him with his back pressed against the bumper on his side. He loves sleeping like that. His head is facing away from it, but I usually flip him on his tummy if he is out just for peace of mind:) But somehow he always manages to end up that way.
Phew. If you read all this, good for you:) Here are some pics from the day he got his shots. He was a BEAR that night. On top of his shots making him uncomfortable, he was teething!! We had to spend and hour and a half outside before bed to make him happy.

Oh, and did I mention that the same day I found the tooth he started getting up on all fours and rocking, the doing a belly flop and stretch to get what he needs. Ahh!!! Crawling is coming sooner than I thought!! I want my little baby who just lays there back sometimes, but am so proud of all his new milestones.
