Trick or Treat and Ears....

So I had to take Cole back to the Dr for a check on his ears. I knew something was still going on because he would wake up screaming and was still not sleeping well at all. I guess I was right. He still has an ear infection:( They put him on new meds. That night he was a bear. I felt so bad for him. He kept looking at us and would just start crying!! Breaks my heart. As soon as his motrin wears off...he lets us know. I am so ready to go a day where I don't have to give him tylenol, motin, or an antibiotic! But, if this is all we have to deal with...we will survive!!

So yesterday was trick or treat. We had to carve our pumpking Tuesday night, and we had some friends over to finger paint our pumpkins yesterday. He was hilarious when I was carving the pumpkin. For some reason he thought it was the funniest thing ever when I was carving the top off. He had tears in his eyes by the time I was done!! Should I think it's cute or be scared he thought a knife was so stinking funny??? Time for picture overload!

Crawling and The Hulk:)

So Cole has officially been crawling for 2 weeks and I must say, he is one busy boy!! He wants to see and touch and feel everything...and I mean everything! We have childproofed out whole downstairs. In the 2 weeks he has been crawling he has:
-Figured out how to flip a sturdy baby chair over backwards (still trying to figure this out)
-Given himself a semi black eye by standing on his little unstable legs in his crib then doing a face plant into the rails.
-Busted his lip. I have no idea how. I turned my back for a minute, hear a cry, turn around and see blood.
-Gotten hit in the head by the baby swing (I still use it for the little girl I babysit) many times. I think I might have to put it away:/
-Pulled a full length mirror onto himself, giving him a nice mark between his eyes.
-He somehow managed to pull down his daddy's binders from work that were tucked on a chair onto his head giving him some nice scratches next to his eye.
-And now he moves around his crib, pulling himself up onto his knees, then standing. He then figured out how funny it is to throw his binki overboard.

This boy has kept me busy. I swear I keep my eyes on him. He is just that quick! I think I've had a few heart attacks in the past week.

So this week is Halloween and I have been looking at costumes for about 2 months now. I couldn't make up my mind and bought 3. BUT, I only kept 1. My friends, I would like for you to meet The Hulk:

Isn't he the cutest Hulk ever?? I thought this was very fitting for my big boy:) Yesterday, our neighborhood had a Halloween parade/celebration with a bounce house, face painting, games, etc. We did something kind of like this for the Fourth of July. They got to dress up and follow a big fire truck around our cul-de-sac (we got to be the luck street:) Cole really enjoyed himself and the weather was beautiful. It was almost 80 degrees, which is unheard of in Ohio in October.
He was a hit with the neighbor boys:)

I couldn't believe how all over the place he was. I wasn't sure he would crawl in the grass, but he had no fear. We saw a lot of his booty going away from us.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Cole to the pumpkin patch over the weekend. Of course he was too busy watching everyone else, he could have cared less about the pumpkins:) He is seriously the most nosy baby ever! We almost had a minor crisis. I timed it up so we could go between his morning and afternoon nap because we had a birthday party to go to in the afternoon. We got Cole dressed in his cute Halloween shirt and got him loaded in the car. I thought I better check to see what time they open since it was Sunday. Sure enough it didn't open until 12....it was 10:30:( So we ran to the store, came home and fed Cole, then went to the pumpkin patch.

7 months old

I'm only a week late writing this:/ Things have been crazy, between Cole getting over his cold/ear infection, teething, crawling... YUP!! Cole started crawling the exact day he turned 7 months old! He didn't really start going until Monday. And he hasn't stopped since. Seriously!! If I want to show someone how he crawls, all I have to do is put something out that he isn't supposed to have. He is such a busy body. So now I am in the process of baby proofing everything! On top of crawling he has now learned how to pull himself up in the crib. I think I had a heart attack the first time I went in and he had himself pulled up on the rail! So tonight, we lower the crib:( My baby is growing up too fast.

So, back to 7 months. This is what little man can do:
-Eats 3 meals a day ( 3 meals of puree and 2 with cereal)
-Down to 4 bottles a day
-3 naps a day (a short one in the morning and late afternoon and if we are lucky a long ... hour or hour and a half around 1pm)
- He is in a convertible car seat now
-Crawling
-Still rolling all over
-Lots of babbling...lots!!
-Starting to pull himself up on things
-Can go from sitting to crawling position and back to his booty
-Plays with his box of toys by himself for about 10-15 minutes!!
-Wears 12-18 or 18 month clothes

Another thing I learned in the last week is I can no longer wedge him in on my bed while I shower. I had a system. I'd put a body pillow behind him. Prop him in the boppy, then put 2 long pillows on either side and one in front. He would sit there and watch a baby praise and worship dvd a friend gave me. He LOVES this 30 minute dvd. On Sunday, I was in the shower and I peeked out to check on him and he had pulled himself to his hands and knees and was leaning over the front pillow. I yelled to Jared to quickly come get him!! So that was the end of that. I can't believe how big he is getting. Every day he seems to surprise me with something new:)

The never ending cold turned into...

an ear infection:( I decided to take him to the pedi last Friday because he had almost had that nasty cough for 2 weeks! He had also started throwing up his bottles in the morning. The fluid hadn't gotten to his lungs yet, but he has his first ear infection. So off to the pharmacy to get amoxicillion (however it's spelled). So on top of a nasty cold, he has an ear infection AND is teething!! When my baby does it, he does it good. So every night we've been giving him his prescription and motrin. He has been sleeping horribly, because poor baby can't put himself to sleep. I am so ready to sleep train again, but not while he is sick. So I will stumble through the dark and pat his little bottom and rub his back until he is back asleep, only to turn around 5 minutes later when he has a coughing fit to go back in and repeat.

So, that's what has been consuming my time. He is just not himself:( I feel horrible for him. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since he caught this darn cold! But, he is starting to get his giggly self back. He is my strong little boy!

On a side note which I will blog about later, he CRAWLED tonight. Not like go across the room, but took a few scooches! Yay and oh no!! We have some baby proofing to do. I already know he will not stop once he really learns how to crawl. He is such a busy body now....I can't imagine how he is going to be when he is mobile!!
