Last week was probably the hardest week since I've had Cole. Monday night when I was getting ready to put him to bed, he started throwing up everywhere. We gave him a bath, and he was acting hungry so we gave him a little more. He woke up at 2:30am, so I fed him. Half way through his bottle, he threw up everything again. In the morning I called the dr, because he was around his cousin who had just came down with strep. They had me bring him in. He didn't have strep so she decided he had a tummy bug:(
I had to give him a mixture of pedialyte and formula. If he got sick again, I was supposed to give him only pedialyte. He did good all day, then that night before bed he threw up everything again! My poor baby!! So we only gave him pedialyte all night. He was up every 2 hours hungry because the pedialyte did nothing for his hunger. We started him back on the mixture on Wed. with no more vomit! YAY!!
Thursday we thought we were in the clear so I started introducing formula only back slowly. He did really good all day. That night again before bed, he threw up AGAIN!! Lots:( So back to only pedialyte for the night. Friday morning I called the dr and had the nurses stumped. She told me to try and only give him pedialyte till they talk to the dr and call me back. He cried. all. day. By noon, I just sat and cried with him because I felt horrible and didn't know what to do. By 2pm I was livid the dr's office never called back, so I called them. They were closed! Are you kidding me?? So, I sent a message to the on call dr. Apparently the nurse forgot to call me back and tell me the dr wanted to see him. Fortunately when I talked to the dr, she didn't need to see him. She wanted me to switch formula.
So here we are 4 days into the new formula. They think he was either allergic to the soy or has acid reflux. Either way, he seems to be doing much better. Although, he is eating like crazy. Poor baby is making up for everything he couldn't eat last week. On top of all that, Jared has been working on project that is keeping him at working from 5am till almost 8pm.... and on the weekends.
So, I am hoping he stays healthy:) Today we went to visit the school I worked at so he could meet all the teachers and students. We had a lot of fun seeing everyone. The kids were super excited to finally see Cole!! Up next: Jared's brother is getting married this weekend. This could be interesting!
