Grandpa

So after I wrote my last post about my grandpa, he passed away. I'm not talking a few days after I wrote it, I'm talking about a few hours. I was home sick with a cold and I got a text from my mom saying my Grandpa was being taken by squad to the hospital and it looked serious! That's all we knew. Around noon by sister called and said my grandpa had passed away.

He was at Physical Therapy doing his bike and everything he was supposed to with no problems. He was on his way back to the room and he told the therapist he wasn't feeling well, that his chest hurt. She rushed him back to his room. By the time they got there he couldn't get into his bed, and that's when she knew something was wrong. They called a squad. They tried reviving him in the squad but were unable to. He had a bad heart and they said it could stop any day. He passed away without any pain.

We are all really worried about my grandma because they had been married for 61 years!! She has never even had a job, or knows how to pump her own gas. She is doing a good as expected. That week was hard, but our family is very close so we helped each other through it all. His funeral was beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day!

My grandpa was the quiet type, but when he spoke you better listen up. It was either really neat what he said or HILARIOUS. I got him a stuffed monkey after his surgery for colon cancer. I was going through things yesterday and found a card he wrote me thanking me for making him a "monkey's uncle:)" I will really miss him and his sweet presence! I couldn't have asked for a better grandpa!
