10 Weeks

Yup! I am almost through with 1st trimester!! YEA!!! That day can't come soon enough. At first I felt bad complaining about pregnancy, but now I feel it is ok. To be quite frank...it sucks! Last week I had quite a few good days, so I thought "Yea, I am past the worst." Wrong! Sunday comes at 4am and I am up with the birds feeling so sick to my stomach. I got up, but ended going back to bed till noon. It was my sister in laws birthday so I did everything in me to try and get up and get ready to go out with my family. I made it, but could only eat bread:(

Monday, I woke up at 4am again just as sick! Although, I was going in to get an ultrasound so I was somewhat excited. After I got ready and lost everything I had eaten the day before, we were on our way to the Doctors. I was so scared I was going to get sick in the Dr's office, but I did good:) They ended up drawing blood to check for toxoplasima since I have 2 cats. I figure that since I have had a cat since I was born I have already been exposed to it, but it was nice to know for sure.

I talked to the Dr about the H1N1 shot. Kyle's mom works with someone who was diagnosed with Swine Flu and I work at a school. I have only gotten the flu shot once and I was sick the whole winter. But, new reports are showing the affects the Swine Flu has on pregnant woman. It's pretty scary. My fear is that they have no idea what the effects are on the fetus. By the time they know that, my child will be 5 years old!!! My Dr said he is all for the flu shot and H1N1 vaccine. So I guess I am going to be getting it. I just pray it is ok for me and baby.

We also talked about my morning sickness and weight loss. Now I have only lost 4-5 pounds so he said it is nothing to worry about just to stay hydrated. As my mom said I will make up for it in 2nd trimester. Although, it feels like I will never be able to eat normal or feel normal again:(

He had to do an internal u/s since its still pretty early. I just wanted to see my baby! Ready for this?? My baby actually looks like... wait for it... a BABY!!!! I could see the head, body, arms and legs. I could even see the brain. I kept asking, "Is that the ___?" He even zoomed in to show the blood flow through the umbilical cord. And of course what I was looking for, we saw the beautiful heartbeat. SO NEAT!! Here are pics of Baby Love:

What difference a few weeks make!

Baby's now the size of a prune! ( I like the websites that say kumquat:)
With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will start working too.)
